Solipsis...

2008-11-21 16:17:54 Virtual Worlds
Solipsis has just been put out into public beta testing, and I must say, it's quite promissing... It's all quite new and a bit unstable, and a few things still need doing, but it's open source, and just at a start, so the best is still to come (like life, hopefully...) The main "Killing feature" is P2P protocole usage. I still havn't had the chance to try it out with a big load of connections, but I'll try my best to do something to try and get people to look into this plateform, and have some big scalling events soon (I don't know something like a concert sounds a good idea :) )
For the moment, I've managed some nice technical stuff, just using the inbuilt firefox navigator, but it supports flash (with sound, video and interaction...) which is better than most systems I've explored. Reminds me of a mix between OpenCroquet and RealXtend.  Nothing to do with any of them, but mixes quite a bit of their concepts. Hope to be talking about it soon, for some event or something
